FIAS Congress to consider recognition of SAMBO EUROPE

The FIAS Executive Committee met in Thessaloniki on 2 October 2026. Its agenda included the creation of SAMBO EUROPE, led by David Amaryan and bringing together 26 national federations.

The committee agreed to submit recognition of the new organisation as the sole continental sambo federation in Europe to Congress. Congress will make the final decision.

Earlier that day, European federation representatives met to discuss the development of SAMBO EUROPE, cooperation and opportunities for competitions.
